Pulled a 1250lb engine today.... to repair the oil pan

PO fixed a leaky pan with fiberglass repair kit.... turns out for good reason. Engine had to come out. Some guys have a hard time believing a 4 cylinder can weigh over 1k lbs.

Yes, bought it already swapped in early September but needing a bit of work. So far I’ve replaced some body panels/glass. swapped the rear axle, rebuilt all the brakes, cleaned out the fuel system, and now this due to the oil leak.
Think the original swap was done 20-30 years ago

Welded the oil pan, freshened her up, and dropped her back in. Many people commenting on how the color doesn't match, had to explain that not painting a Detroit Alpine Green is a sin. Trans is shot, but wasn't an overdrive unit so not too hurt over it.

I'm stationed on Camp Pendleton. They have an automotive hobby shop that is fairly reasonable on a monthly basis. Plenty of niche tools, welders, lifts, etc... a perk of being here. Yes it's open air, but SoCal is fairly temperate.
