I have 8" BDS front springs I would like to get down around the 6" range. They only have a few thousand KMs on them. Could I pull a leaf or 2 out to get down to the height I want or will they stay the same height but just be way softer?

Pulling leafs will make it softer and lower. Your ride height is based on the free-arch height - weight*rate. The free arch won't change much as you pull leaves.

Most will not recommend it as a long-term approach as the normal progressive length of each leaf is not there anymore. Don't really know how the longevity is affected.

You could also consider selling them and buying others or finding somebody to trade with. Admittedly swapping a spring is more work than pulling some leaves, but if you go through 2 or 3 iterations to get the height you want, it could be more work overall.

They're not gonna drop a lot by removing leaves. I removed one longer lead on the fronts of my Rough Country's "EZ-rides" to aide in softening up the harshness some. It did do that, it also did lower the ride height about half an inch. Nothing crazy though. Been that way for several years now.
