Pulling Motor, New one in! New flex pics on last pg.

dont take advice from me too seriously cuz this is my first time working on an engine so i'm just going off what people have told me.

but as far as i know, i only used rtv on front & back of intake, gaskets on the sides. no rtv on the headers. but like i said. dont quote me, there's way better people to ask on here.

i got a used 355 off craigslist and just freshened it up with some gaskets and better parts in certain areas. i dont know for sure if it will run since i did all the work myself. but it was a great learning experience even if it doesnt. it was worth the money for the knowlede. (atleast thats how i make myself feel better, i'm still hoping it works. lol)

theres my thread. its not got a lot of progress but i'm slow and lazy so thems the breaks. lol

I will check it out. Ya, from what I have learned, it is priceless. I am So glad I didnt pay someone to do this for me. Now I know almost every part inside the engine bay!

exactly. i figure that will help me if i need to diagnose anything too.

i bought a long block off craigslist for $100 and just took it down to bare block. that was awesome because it was great to see how everything worked together. these old 350s are so complicatedly simple its incredible.

I am tired of sittin on my ass in the office. I am heading home to work on the motor. Talk to ya soon!!!

Well, I pressure washed the engine bay, Welded in the steering brace. I am going to put on the intake, headers and everything else today. I will put it in thurs or fri. Then on Sat. do all the wiring. Then I have to clean and paint the core support and inner fenders. So, hopefully late sunday I hope to be on the road. Hopefully!!! I frickin can't wait.

Don't get in too much of a hurry that you overlook something. My friend & I got into a hurry when we reinstalled my 460 in my F-250 and he had the firing order all screwed up when I went to fire it up.

Take your time and be methodical.

OMG!! Its in and running!! I can't stop :D! It sounds like a sprint car with the open headers. I don't want to put on the muffler. It took a hour from the time it was on the engine stand to the time it started:crazy: I still have a ton of work to do, but holly sheet I am sooo happy. Tom(bradshawtech) did most of the work. In the time it took me to put the starter on, he wired the whole motor!!! I can't think that guy enough! I will post pics in the morning. Thanks again Tom, I owe you some sushi, and some!!

someone say sushi? I'm down, pick me up in that race car and lets celebrate! muwahaha
very nice, can't wait for my pile to become more than a lawn ornament

Come to bako, I will make you some sushi. My MIL ownes a sushi restaraunt. My best friend is the sushi chef. I married his sister. They are korean. I sometimes work as the backup sushi chef at the restaraunt when the other guy has a night off. I can make about 60 percent of the stuff there. I'm the only white sushi chef in Cali. Ok, maybe not.

Engine is installed and running! All I have to do today is install the inner fenders, battery and tires. I need to take it to a muffler shop to have the exhaust modified to fit the new headers. Here are some pics!

Thanks! The exhaust does not fit the headers. Edelbrock said it would. So I drove a couple miles to a muffler shop. They couldn't do it today. So I am having it towed there in the morning. I could have gone to jail it was so loud.

I have done many engine swaps guys and I have to say that these photo's do no justice as to how good this swap that Jeff compleated turned out.
His attention to detail and not missing one thing as far as cleaning up, painting and changing any potential part that might give him a problem impressed me each time I showed up to help ( which wasn't that much ).

Great job again Jeff and you can be proud wheeling that rig around in my opinion.
