the windows on my '82 k5 are the solid one piece type. i'm guessing they are not meant to be removed and replaced the way the whole top is. but, for trips and stuff where topless isn't the best option, for weather and security, it would be nice to pull them to get an open feel, and be able to pop them back at night or if rain came. wishful thinking, i know. anyone tried this, or simple modification to do this?

Look for another top, they're all over and dirt cheap. Pull the windows out, and just switch tops when you need to. I'd think pulling windows and putting them back in would be a pain in the ass. I've been thinking about running a "summer top" and a "winter top". Maybe even cut a hole in the top, rivet some snaps and have the ol' "ragtop" option?
