Whats the going scrap value on a 1980 K-20 single cab longbed with no engine/trans/tcase?

It hurts to say, but I am done with this truck. I got it 5 years ago as an in-between-er while I finished building the 73 F-250 4x4, but my mistake was getting an old truck in bad shape that still needed to pass smog. For the first few years I had a guy that would overlook the little details as long as it would pass the sniffer test, which was great till he moved away. Now all the places I go to are so anal about things saying they will fail me just for having a chrome air cleaner or because one of my gas tanks is disconnected because it still needs to be tested. Long story short, the smog situation this year plus hundreds of little things still left to do to get this truck just right finally tripped the switch in my brain saying I should just cut the losses and run. Thing is, I need some parts off it that would kill whatever chance I had at selling it 'whole' for any decent amount of money.

My plan now is to pull the engine/tranny/tcase out and sell them, then strip the winch, HID lights, switches, gauges, hydroboost, tires and use those on the ford. Maybe even recycle the custom winch bumpers.
...And then scrap the K-20. or maybe first throw it on Craigslist for scrap value or even free, got the title right here if they wanna make it run again. Its a camper special, 8600GVWR

What would be a reasonable asking price for a recently rebuilt 350 sbc, Th-400, and NP205 combo? Complete with ALL engine accessories, radiator, carb, hurst shifter, T-case levers, driveshafts.

You'd be better off selling it as-is whole IMO--a lot less work for one thing, you wont have to deal with multiple strokers on CL,etc, and you wont have a shell to dispose of later...scrap here brings only 175 a ton now,and prices may drop more I heard, due to the amount of scrap the tornados in OK has produced, that will glut the market.....the cab weighs about 400 lbs stripped, and a bed weighs about the same, the frame, maybe 350 lbs?...that adds up to less than a ton,so you will not get much for scrapping it...but someone who needs a parts truck might offer you a real good price...

That truck don't look too bad. Problem get more parting it out than scrapping it. Probably only get a couple Hundred in scrap.hopefully you Can sell it as a complete project and Get more that way. Good luck.

I hate when people scrap old vehicles, What a waste of sheet metal that is no longer made.

That unfortunately is the goal of many of these smog programs and Cash for Clunkers. They want to get these old vehicles off the road by making it difficult to comply with all the nitpicking rules that have little to do with how clean or efficient a vehicle is. I'm glad I live in VA where all you have is a safety inspection.
