Ok, i want some input on a route to go. Im at the point where i can purchase a winch bumper with a ramsey re12000 already in it. I don't know if the winch works at all, i can't get the lever pulled enough to free spool it. No remote ( but thats cheap) its a great deal at 450 for both bumper and winch. I would have to modify the bumper to bring it up to look good on my 3" body lifted truck. BUT..... i really LOVE the Abomb bumper center. However, bare center with no stinger or side tubes is already over that 450....and with no winch. SO, should i get the bumper i don't LOVE because of the deal or keep saving for the one i love? Im also contemplating the repair/ upgrade of my np241. parts and SYE kit would be over the 450 also...not to mention new driveshafts id have to buy. Which way should i go? Im liking the whole being able to drive it and hate to park it while i save money for the big purchases and then mechanical work. pic to follow. Please help! Thank you.

just cleaned / resealed a old re800k version of that winch .

there free spool frozen problems are from the end housing not sealed . mud/water get in and rust the slide gear on the shaft . then you cant pull the fork to un hook them for free wheel .

easy to pop off and free up . and there is a plastic plug that is a service port on the body near the drum. you pull it and spray some oil lube in every now and then to keep it from sticking .

buy the combo . keep winch . sell bumper you don't like . buy bumper you do like.

pics of the 1 I just did with a friend for his truck and the new b/a products 100ft 3/8" line and better hook design . 1st pic right side that 25cent size black plastic plug is the lube point I was talking about.

If your t-case is broken then the bumper is pointless. You can wheel without a bumper. Mechanical work and reliability/maintenance all ways comes first.

Since your going to be living with the bumper for awhile only get the one you like
Nothing worse than looking at it always wanting the other one
Better off waiting for the right one

As said before fix the transfer case first
Bumper doesn't do any good if you can't get to the trail

Does your t case work?

How many deals do you find on winches?

If I rarely saw used winches come up, I would probably snag the winch bumper combo.

If the case is broken though gotta fix it first.

Lots of stuff gets built kind of hodge podge cause deals come up that will save money.

T case works fine, it just leaks a little and i didn't rebuild it when i bought it, i just threw it in. I found out i can do both, kinda. Rebuild the 241, what and buy the SYE kit later, and buy the combo this week. Extra...unanticipated cash is coming in so i can do it. Thx all for the input!
