I have an 85 1/2 ton, i put 4" lift rear springs up front (custom front crossmember), axle sits in stock location with shackles 2" longer than stock. It gave roughly 6 inches of lift total.

My steering is stock pitman arm, stock type draglink, raised sterring arm and 2" steering spacer. Draglink sits completly level. Power steering works fine, no issues there. Turning left is fine, turning right does not happen, after the wheels are straight again (which is center of box rotation), once you turn right it just raises the right side of the truck up and you can watch the spring flex, and shackle move forward. All of this is on 235/75 tires so not alot of tire drag.. No swaybar attached at all, as I never had one.
Truck is just a street rig, going to the beach and stuff.

Any recommendations

Draglink length not set right . Recenter box with steering shaft off , recenter steering wheeel and reattach steering shaft , set tires straight , make draglink that long , and start adjusting it from there .

The draglink is not supposed to be level - it ought to be close to parallel to the spring.

I kinda thought when he said level it was close to parralel with spring , thats the only thing to reference level from since the frame is curved over the axle .

That is how I did it, with wheel centered tires are straight, I have equal turns left to right. Turn left and its fine, turn back to right, the tires return to center, and after that point begin pulling the shackle forward instaed of turning wheels.

I will have to go look at my 83 and check that , it still has the steering on it , and goes lock to lock just fine , and see what the angle should be .

Ignore what I said earlier

o.k. you have 4" lift 52" rears up front ? this will equal 8" lift basicly. and also 2" longer shackles is long. but good for flex.

next you have stock push pull steering still. this needs to go. 2 reasons big lift and 52" springs in the front for lots of flex.

you need to do crossover to make your life much better and safer.

but yes center wheels and box then adjust link to hook them up with no movement. and then test drive and adjust to center the wheel.

I have teh equivalent of 6" of lift, the 2" longer shackles are nto for added height, they are there to keep the springs off the frame because the stock shackles let the springs rest on the frame.
