Ok, the first day I lost two of the deep dish beauty rings that came with the rallys.
I was told to buy new ones at O'Reilly Automotive they are not as deep and nice but have stayed on for a week plus. I have one that is creeping around the wheel and I am worried it will cut the stem.
I have used pliers to pull the teeth out tighter and it fits tight as hell but still is creeping.
I cleaned the inside of the wheel to make sure somehow it wasnt slick but dont know what else to do
as they are still creeping around and I know it will cause failure at some point on the stem.

How can I stop this what should I do?

Thanks PG

Are they factory rings or aftermarket? Only thing I can think of is that they aren't made correctly. I've noticed the aftermarket likes to use "plain" steel where GM used spring steel.

I probably put mine on 15 years ago, other than knocking one off with a rock (it dented the ring, so it wasn't just brushing against it), I've never had one come off on it's own.

I would guess that your aren't factory. Mine have never fallen off, I've had them rattle some before but never fallen off

Where can I buy factory and what price should I pay are there still NOS available?
I also still have the dog dish wheels and hub caps that came on it too so dont worry I am not discracing this clean survivor K5. PG

You can buy factory like ones from places like LMC and Classic Parts of America. I can't speak of the quality because I've never bought any aftermarket trim rings.

OEM rings would be my choice. Most aftermarket products aren't good enough quality when it comes to materials used IME.

I see complete sets of wheels/trim rings/4x4 center "caps" for $100, and while that's a bit much for good rings, I like spare parts lol.

Just recently I bought a complete set of 32inch tires with good tread, on stock rally wheels with beauty rings for 125 bucks, good deals are all over Craigslist. Just have to find them.

I'm a little late to this conversation, but I would recommend the beauty rings from LMC truck. They clamp on just like the originals, and are polished very nicely. Couldn't be happier!
