Don't get to do that very much but had little choice anymore. The shop fork lift has been getting very dangerous. It was time to get it replaced.

Got a smokin' deal on this one and made a flying trip up to get it. 8 hours round trip with an hour for loading and another hour for stretch your leg stops.

The new axle gearing made the trip so nice. To buzz along at 70 MPH with the load on (traffic permitting) was really nice.

There's a full build thread in the driveway I believe.

Specs are,

508 cadillac big block, NV4500, NP261. 14BFF single wheel converted to duals. Dana 60 in the front. 6" lift and 37's.

Some of the history, It started life as an '85 2wd 6.2 smoker. Rusted out pretty badly in the rocker panels.

Some smaller bits and pieces, on board air. 98 gallon fuel tank. Filled and smoothed in tail gate. Has a pretty nice stereo system in it. Nothing that would win any competitions but it sounds good. Air bag suspension assist in the rear.

Stuck an aluminum radiator in it not too long ago. Another big plus to the performance.

thats such a badass truck Kert....hmm another TOTM candidate?

Hey if I puke my 6.0 on the way to your place, can we use your truck?

see ya in a couple weeks!

Better puke it before you get to his house, I don't wanna come and get you yahoos, gonna cut into my wheeling time!

Gas mileage would probably be the same considering how heavy you are going to be loaded Dave.

Only problem with Kerts truck? Those skinny people seats hes got

I think it'll be fine, just a big workout for it in the mtns....

and the seats?.....that's why I got stupid duty seats in the maiden.

How big is the lift? (Forklift). What does the trailer weight? How was the mileage for the round trip?

The forklift was supposed to weigh 4800 lbs. Looking at the tag just today, it says 8400 lbs. Quite a difference.

Trailer weighs 4000 lbs. Truck itself is 7000 lbs. We were real close to a total weight of 20,000 lbs.

9mpg empty on the way out. Between 6 and 7 on the way back.
