Q: Did the diesel have cats?

Mine is an '82 6.2, I dont have cats, and wondered if I was supposed to? Im not gonna have any installed, just curious.

I had an 84 k2500 no cats. I think it would prob plug pretty quick if it did.

Thanks much, I wasnt sure. This is my first diesel and Ive still got a lot to learn. I didnt *think* that cats were used on diesel engines, but I didnt *know*, so thanks for the good answer.

I need new muffs, this damn thing is LOUD as hell.

At least I have 1 thing that most gassers wish they had.. true dual exhaust!

believe it or not.. I like the single.

True dual makes for a better sound, but a well built single pipe is far better for performance. And most diesel heads laugh at your true duals, in favor of a turbo and a large single
