When I crank my truck cold, morning or afternoon, She idles at about 600-650 rpm in park. After it comes up to operating temp it idles at about 900 rpm. Otherwise it runs good. Isn't that kinda backwards? Can the choke or high idle be 'backward' for lack of a beter term? Also, I know almost nothing about adjusting carbs. I have a 74 Jimmy, 350/350 carb has the spring choke.

Actually the fast idle setting (passenger side screw) is probably set too low. You can increase that by simply turning it until you get the desired cold idle speed.

Since you don't know anything about these carbs, stay away from the two identical screws at the bottom front of the carb, those aren't the ones I'm talking about. :)
