I'll be getting one of these as soon as I figure out a few things between the two.

Does anyone have any experiences with either brand or know of any important differences between the two models ?

Im sure the images are just a representation - not the actual product thing.

Thanks for the info / suggestions.

I have the Jet stage 2 carb on a Caddy 540 stroker. I have had good success with it. I changed the float in it to a different shape to get it to run better on steep inclines. Other than that it was a bolt on & run. It does get lean on the top side. Not quite enough fuel for the big stroker above 5000 RPM.

I've got the SMI and am very happy with it.
They took all the specs on my truck and then sent a carb based on the specs.

I had to initially adjust the idle speed and mixture on the truck. Ever since it's run like a champ.

JET may also be just as good, but I can surely say that my SMI experience was awesome.

I bought the SMI Q-jet. I talked to Sean Murphy, owner . He took all the specs of my truck. Told me they were about 2 weeks behind. 3 weeks latter its at my door. Only adjustment were idle speed , mixture and choke. Has been running great ! I would buy it again in a minute !

I have the Jet stage 2 jet for BBC on my 454HO... worked perfect out of the box with minor adjustments...:woot:

I as well as many other people I know have dealt with SMI for a long time.
Shaun knows Q-jets very well.
Plus, he used to work at JET and now works about a 1/2 mile away.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

At this point the only wonder I have is why the 80.00 difference in price.

I'll most likely be going to SMI, being the given responses of high recommendation.

I'll give it until Friday/Saturday (13-14) and place the call then. Hopefully, there's more feedback by that time to assure my choice is the right one for my needs.
