Is there supposed to be a gasket on the fitting where the brake booster hard line connects? Fitting to Carb. I'm having rough idle issues, replaced intake gasket, removed EGR (truck had EGR intake but no ports on the head). So I've ruled those out, rebuilt carb, in the proccess of checking all my lines and everything.
Was wondering if there is supposed to be a gasket, or just thread tape the fitting. None of my books show the rear of the carb and brake booster fitting. Cause spraying it with brake cleaner I can't tell if it's the fitting to carb, or hard line to fitting. But I wouldn't think it'd be some kind of round gasket from fitting to carb since the threads don't bottom out to the carb.
So close to getting it running, I've only driven it home and it's been parked since I've been working on it.

Put some teflon tape on the fitting and as I was tightening it down I heard a pop, then it was easier to turn... funny thing was I was barely putting pressure on the wrench. Not sure , you know when you turn a rusty bolt and it has that jerky crack sound, kinda sounded like that. And it did tighten down. I don't see any fractures though. Still leaked after the teflon, I RTV'd it.
Letting it cure, if it works, I'll let it be. I plan on eventually putting something injected in it.
