I've just rebuilt a 77 carb 17057213 to go on a 78 K5. I have the Doug Roe book, Original manual and some other book. Even the paperwork the rebuilt came with. It still is not clear what I need to do to adjust. The choke plate needs to be a xx degrees. etc. How do I backyard adjust this? Just some basic settings.

Did you screw with the choke? :(

If you fiddle around with it on the bench, you need to set the choke so that the choke plate closes (JUST fully shut) when you move the throttle linkage like you pump the gas. Once you do that, you really need to have it on the vehicle to set the idle speed, how fast/completely it opens, etc.

Also, since you replaced the pulloff, make sure it is adjusted right. You can do that yourself I guess, once you get the choke adjusted so it's fully shut when cold, put a vacuum to the pulloff, make sure it cracks the choke slightly.
