Quad. carb settings

For someone like me who doesnt know how to properly set a carb...would there be someplace for me to start, so it runs fairly good?....as in # of turns in/out, etc. Its a 4 brl Quad, chev....dont know the year.

I start at 1-1/2 turns out from the lightly seated position, then adjust for highest vacuum reading, also adjust timing and idle speed all in sync with each other.
