I picked up this diamond in the rough on Valentines day this year (just so happens it's red and my girlfriend came with me that day too) after a very long trip back from the other coast of FL, trying to make sure the trailer stays straight on the road. I arrived home with an 1987 GMC Jimmy Sierra Classic, extra top, tailgate w/ glass and motor, new floor pans. all given at sale but the biggest thing I brought home was a pile of parts and the start to a big project.

There was one flaw loading the truck and top on the trailer... it would fishtail going over 35... which I didn't achieve in the town untill I got on the highway which thankfully there was a rest stop just a little up the exit and me and my friend I had come with me moved the topper to the truck bed and the truck closer to the tounge. And the rest of the drive I stayed 55 or lower.
Also the blue D-max isnt mine, its my fathers that I brought for a little extra power from my 1500 sierra which it was needed to keep that trailer on the road at the worst point.

Hoods popped on this last one because its almost time to swap engines, just the 350 in it looks like it blew a head gasket and the 350 he gave me I already tore down and should have it together whenever I get the heads cleaned at a shop

While im waiting to get the heads from the shop I decided I wanted steps for the truck and saw that there really were only "one size fit all" steps for like $50 so I decided I could make alot cooler steps for cheaper. I just got a new welder a Hobart 140 handler so I decided to put it to work with some 3/8" chain which it seemed to do great on!

Here's the mock up of how i want the step.

I had to make a structure under the step because the sawblade isnt strong enough to hold up a person without bending and since its gonna be under the blade it doesn't look the best.

Here is one of the steps all welded up, im using flux core which makes it all dirty and the spatter everywhere but it came out alot cleaner than i thought. All I have to do now is Grind down the blade so im not ripping peoples legs off and get the new floorpans welded in so i can bolt these up with the seats
