rebuilding the carb on my '77 camper special. i got the bottom, top, and middle of the carb seperated. when i turned the middle on it's side, a little ball bearing came out of who knows where and rolled across the table. where did this thing come from? thanks in advance

I am assuming you have a rebuild kit with a diagram? If not I will let someone else chime in because I can't remember exactly where it drops into.

It is the check ball for the accelerator pump. It drops in the hole right next to the hole for the metering rod piston.

got it thanks. right after i posted this, i found a carb out of my old 472 and took that apart. now i'm trying to figure out how to get those dam little rods to open the secondarys correctly....

The secondaries lift the rods. They are the metering system for the fuel on the secondary side.
