quadrajet casting numbers

does anyone know of a site or link that can tell me what the casting no's on drivers side of carb are for. need to know what year and what vehicle carb came off of to get a rebuild kit and want to make sure correct kit. thanks.

Tell me the number and I can look it up in my book, but you can just take it to the part store and they can look it up and give you the right kit anyways :P

I have a carb kit book too,up to 1986 at least.The numbers indicate the year and application--example # 1708456 would be a 1978 carb,the 4th digit on the "17"series is the year,older carbs before 1978 had less numbers,and they began with a "7".The rest of the numbers depict what car,engine size,etc.Let me know if you need me to look it up for ya--glad to help! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

that for the help guys. that will get me going. i left a 5 out of the casting number, it should read 17058204.
