I have a 74 and have taking it wheeling 3 or 4 good times now and I have noticed this huge gap between the tailgate and quarters at the top and also the top is starting to crack at the seam on the back about 3/4's of the way up, what can I do to fix or prevent it from getting worse, I tried a rachet strap, but dont think it helped any:confused:

First, don't wheel without a tailgate. Second, it sounds like the tailpan might be a bit weak or tweaked. You could pull the bedsides in with a come along and add some bracing from the tailgate posts to roughly over top of the frame on each side.
