My buddy has a 79 Blazer, 350/350/203. He wants to swap in a 700r4/205, can he use the stock t-case crossmember? I have read that he would have to swap the output shaft if the 700r4 for a shorter one, is that all to bolt to the 205? Then move the stock crossmember back, or use a different one? Thanks!:D

i built a 700/205 combo for my blazer and yes you will need a shorter tail shaft from advanced adapters well worth it my friend but that means you will have to tear the whole transmission apart to do it, my suggestion would be to rebuild the whole tranny while your in there thats what i did might as well... and i believe the xmember is the same... but dont quote me on that...

Most people have troubles using the short shaft in the 700R4 with a 205 because the front driveshaft hits the corner of the tranny pan. You can avoid that problem by using the spacer between the trans and t-case adapter which also eliminates having to tear into the tranny.
