I have 77 jimmy and i took off my old rear bumper to put a 2 x 4 piece of tubing on it but i have found out that the gas tank sticks out about a 1/2 inch. Can you relocate the gas forward more or does any one have a better idea for a bumper.

I just mounted mine out far enough/close enough so that I could open my tailgate and not hit.
