I was wire wheeling some rust off the door of my 86 and I knocked loose and ruined a few plastic cap pieces off the lock. I never really knew how it went together. It looks like when the lock is installed, you snap this cap thing over the top and it mostly cosmetic? Is that right? The parts I ruined are a ring looking piece and also a flat circular piece with the slot where the key goes through. Everything still works now, but it's kind of exposed to the elements and looks terrible.
Is it possible to get replacement pieces like this? Looking in LMC I don't see them, just the locks themselves. I'm not even sure if I'd get the caps if I ordered all new locks?
Any ideas?
