So I'm finishing up all the small things, and I go to bolt up the front shaft (1310) and the bolts I have from m D44 and that came with the axle are too nig, 5/16...... so I go to the store and get some heavy grade 1/4 inch ones.... (they have 6 lines on the head, what grade is that?)
Anyway they go in fine and all, but the holes on the straps are slightly too big so they may wobble, and I think I overtightened it......
I wouldn't mind getting a 1310 tall yoke over on pirate with new u bolts, because the joint is obviously rubbing the yoke now (which is why brent broke a HAD shaft on it, I imagine), but I plan to eventually switch to 1350
Also I've already killed the driveshaft fund with tube door latches and a conversion joint so I can get the truck out of the shop and fill some orders and sell some junk
Anyway I'm saving for a proper rear shaft, will use the old one for now, and as a spare after, but was planning on keeping the front shaft for a while, even though it's 1310
So, what should I do then?
Get new straps and proper bolts or what? New yoke? Hmmmmm? Should I be all that concerned?
