when i put the new engine in my 77 K5 i made sure and used all new external parts(alternator, starter, etc) it has a new fuel pump and everything

my question is if i let the truck sit for a few hours(like when im at work) i notice that there is no fuel in the filter because it is all leaking back down thru the pump and back to the tank....any reason for whats causing this or is it just normal?

it runs great otherwise and maybe im just paranoid but i want to get all the tiny lil bugs and quirks worked out of it before i do any major wheeling with it

Not a problem. Just gravity doing its thing. There is plenty of fuel in the carb bowl to start the truck and get fuel pumping.
