My temp and oil pressure gauges don't read right. Sometimes pinned all the way high - sometimes pinned low and sometimes reading correctly. I'd say they are pinned high more often than anywhere else. In your opinions. Is it most likely my gauges that are failing and need replacing or my sending units?. Could be both I suppose but I'm gonna start with whatever the general consensus is from all you good folks who care to post what you think. Thanks!..

If both are acting similar, it's probably the connector on the back of the cluster that needs addressed.

The gauges and senders are usually pretty robust.

You can ground the sender wire at the sending unit(s) with the key in run and watch gauge response, then remove the ground wire so the sender wire is connected to nothing. Gauges should peg one direction when grounded, and the opposite when not grounded. If it doesn't, the/a problem is not the sending unit.
