I currently have a 77 k5 witha 6 inch block lift on it and i hate it, i bought it that way with the intentions to take it off, my question is im ready to take it off so would i just need to get all new cab mounts kits and hardware? would there be anything else I know i may run into problems with the steering and currently my truck has 35's which i may need to get a small tire, any input would be great

Wow, I had a 3" body lift on a K20 and it was terrible. 6" body lift really uncommon. Steering shaft, shift linkage for auto, clutch linkage for manual and brake lines all come to mind. Got a close up pic of the mounts?

whew im glad it was not 6, cause thats what was said to me, so what would be my best option to lower it and possibly keep my 35 inch tires, im not really familiar will body lifts

Cheapest/easiest thing to do is buy some shorter bolts and pull those nylon pucks and bolt it all back together. If you want to spend more money I might get all new rubber bushings bolts and washers for all the body mounts from one of the many companies that reproduce those for these trucks. You should have no problem running 35s with those bushwacker cut out flares you have.

Also needs to be mentioned that when you install a body lift, brake lines, the steering shaft, shifter linkages and the fuel filler hoses all need to be modified. So be prepared to shorten/adjust these back to stock.

My body lifted truck still had stock brake lines. There is a coil of line at the master cylinder to allow for flex. It was stretched out for the body lift. You should be able to compress it back to normal. My steering shaft was still stock I think. They are collapsible for crash safety, I think mine was just stretched out for the lift. My shifter was never right after being extended so I had swapped to a Hurst ratchet shifter on the floor with a cable linkage. If your shifter is butchered and cant be easily repaired its a good option.

The braided lines are probably down at the axle for the suspension lift. The hard lines from the frame up to the master cylinder are the ones with the coil of extra line. Look at the master cylinder and it should make sense.

now if the soft topper would get here already be here next week, been waiting for weeks..
Trust me on this the Softopper is sooooo nice. I catch myself sometimes petting it saying "my precious"

Well worth the money. Why have a convertible if you can't take the top off quickly.
