This isnt related to trucks but I figured there is someone here who knows about these things. On my dirt bike there is a rivet nut that holds on a little plastic guard, the rivet nut is set in the tubular part of the frame. When I try to loosen the bolt the bolt and nut just spin. So I have a few questions: Any suggestions on how to remove it, and do so to where the nut will not stay inside the frame? How are these things pressed in there? Need any special tools? I can get another nut from the dealer but I dont want to have the old nut rattling around in the frame.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Can you fit a grinder in there? If you can, I would grind off the head and push it through.

cut the head off with a dremel. Remove piece it is holding up.

Grab with vice grips, yank out. If you can't try to pull on it so there is friction and it won't spin while you turn the fastener.

They are often called thread-serts, and you can buy a tool to install them.

I have a harbor freight version i think........it sucks, but for rare use....whatever
