Question about Rock Rings

For those of you running Rock Rings-

These are 3/4" steel - and it looks like they cover the whole outside of the diff? - did you have to grind the lip off the outside perimeter of the OE cover to get it to fit flush? Or does it nestle inside the lip?

I didnt have to grind anything on the ones I run; They were only $45 and 65.Dana60 front Dana70 rear
