1984 K5 w/305 cid. I have a leaking sending unit, its on the drivers side by header on the block..is this oil pressure dummy light switch ?

im not near truck but i believe 2 wires..i know its oil pressure but is it for the LIGHT or the Gauge? thanks

I have oil pressure gauge in dash...So, is there a sending unit by dizzy ? or just one on block? i dont have truck here to check.

Light is two wire (switch), gauge is one wire (sender). Oil pressure gauge or light, not both on a gas rig, at least.

As I recall the carbed rigs that vintage used both a pressure sender and choke switch (two separate units) tee'd off the block back by the distributor. A two wire switch (or pressure sender) could be run off the port above the oil filter, I just don't remember that being the way GM did it.

if I unplug switch by oil filter, choke light stays on...my truck in shop right now, once i get it back, ill look closer, but I do believe switch by oil filter has 2 wires from it.
