I'm trying to tighten up my steering and the balljoints are good, tie rods are solid, and I just installed a brand new drag link. It looks like the bushings are crapping out where my sway bar meets the frame -- could that contribute to a little bit of steering slop?

Truck is all stock w/ the exception of a 2.5 Superlift & 33x10.5 tires.

No. Swaybar just kinda sits there and does nothing :lol

Check the bolts on your steering box, they get loose fairly easy.
Check around the steering box for cracks in the frame.
Check the bushings in your leaf springs, and the torque of your bolt on shackle side.
Check rag joint on steering shaft

Best way is to have someone turn your wheel and look for what is moving before the tires move.

I've installed the ORD steering box brace -- no cracks in frame so I caught it in time. I did go back and retorque the bolts on the leaf spring bushings and the u-bolts holding the springs to the axles. I guess next up is the rag joint! Maybe I'll do that XJ shaft mod I keep hearing so much about...

I usually torque the bolts until they break and then back off a quarter turn.........
