scale of 1-10 the level of pain to remove the tranny while the xfer case is still mounted in the blazer? th350-np203 set-up. has anyone done this before or is this a pipedream? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

i have drop a 700r and 208 a few time the only PITA is the hight of the trany i need blocks on the jack for hight and remove the jack and slide it out on the pan it is a 8
I did this couple weks ago. I used two floor jacks and a friend. Pretty painless just have to go slow. I did it on dirt and it took a couple hours. Hardest part is reachin the damn bolts.. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif I'll give it a 5.
if its not going back in, use some wood to get the jack up under the setup, take all the bolts out, disconnect all the shifters/linkages, drop the jack and let it fall...but since i figure its going back in, use a couple ratchet straps to hold it to the jack...and take your time..

(IF) that is the case PIPE DREAM as we all know in the 350 - 203 set up the out put shaft from the tranny goes directly into the t case so you must remove both at same time OR t case first with or with out adapter then tranny
i find it easyer 2 do em both at the same time
and il give it a a 6 if your AT LEAST A 1/2 AZ DECENT MECH.
if your not then easly a 8 + mabe even a 9
on a 1 - 10 scale were 10 is the most difficult

if you have an engine hoist its supereasy...remove the trans
tunnel..run the hoist in the cab..and drop the tranny..i had to do the same, when the flexplate broke...took me about 2hrs...also depends on your mech. appitude..pain scale
