Do not remove the rear axles. If you do, there is a possibility that the hubs will work loose. You could have a wheel fall off. You could leave the outer joint in the hub, but you are really looking at to much work. Then you add the possibility of contamination in the diff. Flat tow it, put it on a trailer, or drive it where it needs to go.

Good advice.

There is a good chance the rear bearings would be damaged.
