Hi, I bought a 4" tuffcountry lift , springs in the front, blocks in the rear, for a 90 fullsize blazer. I was wondering if I would have any driveline problems.
will the stock drivelines be ok with that angle or do I need new ones, will it chew up my u-joints? It will mostly be just a daily driver. any help would be much appreciated :)

by the way great site you guys got here :waytogo:

I've been running a 4" lift on my '90 K5 since around '95 with the stock shafts front and rear. When it was a daily driver I had to change the joints in the rear shaft every year or two.

just did the exact same lift on my 90 blazer this past summer. You will need to do the following.
drop transfer case using stock spacers. go between crossmember and frame.
you will need a drop pitman arm not a raised steering arm. (skyjacker pt # ca-90)
longer front brake lines. use 88 chevy 1/2 ton fronts
rear brake line is napa part (search to find) misplaced my reciept for it
I have been driving mine daily and it is very streetable and rides better than it did w/ stock setup.

ummmm....

Ummmmm.. Careful with doing this. Using the spacers on the wrong side of the frame can cause your frame to break. I've seen it before and it sucks bad. For street only use, it would probably be okay to do this. But, if you plan on taking it off road, you frame will probably break where the bolts are located.

Jut letting ya know.

I am running 4" TC springs in the front and 6" TC springs in the rear (minus 1 leaf to lower them to 4") My truck is basically at the max of what stock drivelines can survive at. My tcase is dropped down about 3/4".

I had to add a limiting strap setup to the rear axle droop so it didn't bind the rear driveshaft. If it wasn't there and I got in a situation offroad where both rear tires were allowed to go to max droop the driveshaft would break.

oh I forgot to mention my kit came with 5.5" blocks for the rear is that normal?

hey did u ever get ur kit installed?

i installed mine i got the 5.5" block im swaping it out for a 4" block

i had some bad vibes at 0-30 and a grinding noise too

yah I got it installed but my driveline angle was to severe so I ditched them and got a 4" shackle flip

I had nothing but trouble with the 5.5 block
It was just to much angle
