Question for a friend of mine.....

My bud just called me and told me he just got towed home. He was out at some sand dunes and tried putting his heep into 4 wheel drive and it wouldn't engage then on his way home there was some whining sound and the rear end locked up on him. He said you couldn't even push it in neutral. I am thinking something is wrong with the transfer case. He has a manual tranny. I know it's not a K5 question but I would appreciate any opinions on wha it could be.

for now i would drop the driveline. that will tell you if it's the rear axle or trans/transfercase. go from there.
