can the front end off a 73-80 fit on a 81-86 i know it can be done the other way around but i was planning on buying somethign newer and with less rust on and put the older front end on it cuz its hard to find a decent blazer around here

Lots of poeple switch the front ends on the older ones to new ones. Heres a list you will need. The entire front clip. Yah thats about it. You need the radiator core support too. I haven't done this but I think it would be pretty easy

sry i must of got my question wrong but i ment to the other way around put the older font clip on the new body

It is only logical that if it goes one way it will go the other way:D . Granted there might be some wiring issues that need to be worked out but it will work. Think about it for a minute.

I think the biggest issue will be the cowl and windshield wipers.

Yeah what he said, I am not sure how that would be done, some fabbin would have to be done, everything else should be pretty much bolt on I guess.

but arnt the cowls different on ..... the older is pretty much under the hood and the newer ones got a panel in front of the hood and window

I know when I did the old to new swap, I needed to put the newer longer wiper arm attachment things to clear the newer cowl piece. you would need the shorter ones so the wipers would not hit the old hood. Since the hood hinges bolted to the fender on the older trucks that would be no problem. It should be an easier swap to go to the old style
