I've got an MT1769 1/2 impact that has a crack along the nose cone. It is cracked from one of the mounting screw holes on the top to the point where it starts to get smaller towards the arbor. My question to you is can I get a replacement nose cone? I'd ask my Matco man, but he's a dick and never stops by anymore.

Yep, part number is CF1769-D727 it is $47.95 list price. You can probably call customer service and order one direct, I don't know for sure. 1-866-BUY-TOOL

My distributor website says out of stock, but I think that may be incorrect. If you have any trouble let me know. Oh and feel free to mention my name(Alan Mandic) I don't know about phone orders, but I know I receive commission off of internet sales when someone buys from the website, via my distributor site. My contact info is in the link above if you have trouble.

Thanks for the part number, they wouldn't sell it to me. They said I had to go through my local distributor.

Sorry. Try giving him a ring, if it doesn't work out let me know I can get it for you.

I hate when they do that. It doesn't make sense to me. If you don't have a guy serving the shop, what are you to do?

I got it ordered through him, as much as I hated to. He screwed me over on a plasma cutter years ago and I haven't liked dealing with him since. I ordered one that would sever 1/2" thick steel. When I got it home and tried it out it wouldn't even cut 3/8". Come to find out he ordered the wrong one and wouldn't take it back because I'd used it. The one he ordered would only cut 3/16" thick steel.

Man that blows, sorry to hear that. There should have been a steep price difference in the two though, no reason that should have gone un-noticed.
