I’ve noticed lately that the newer GM 2500 HD gas burner 6.6 trucks are all coming with the newer AAM rear axles like the diesels do - but if I am correct the 6.6 is now the only gas burner offered in the HD 2500/3500 trucks.

Does this mean that there is no longer a need for our beloved 14Bolt ?
I have not seen one on any of the newer HD GM trucks.

Can anyone confirm this ?

Shoot, it's been what?....11-11.5" ring gears for a while now. Good question. When was the last one?

Yeah, the 11.5” and better ( meaning the newer versions ) have been used on all the diesels and 8.1’s ( and now the gas 6.6 stuff ) but the 6.0’s in older SRW trucks still used the familiar 10.5” - but I think it may be gone at this point ?

They haven’t put the 10.5” AAM in the pickups in several years. I think it was in 2020 when they switched to the 6.6L gas engine.

This is what I am thinking - haven’t paid attention to the newer trucks that closely so I missed this great detail.
