not going to buy it or anything. just wondering. good deal thow. 84 sub, or at least thats what the title says. the only thing i can come up with is its a newer body on a older frame. i say this because its a BBC with a th400/203 and a 60 and 14b out back. i have never seen a 80s 1 ton sub. i think they were around in the 70s not sure. post up
thanks

Suburban NEVER came from the factory ever offered as a 1 ton. The front axle, and motor was swapped in. BBC's were never offered in 4wd suburban from 73-91 either for that matter.

a 454 is only found in 2 wheel drive suburbans?

Fire departments could order a true one ton suburban. I don't know what engine options they had.

I thought that was only after the body change in 92 ??

That part is correct. In 1992, special gov't offices (fire, police, etc) could special order a 1 ton burb, but it was still IFS. But prior to 1992, no 1 ton burb existed from the factory.

I've got a friend with a 4x4 1978 K20 - he smogged it in Cali, and they're real particular about engine swaps (meaning I'm fairly certain it wasn't swapped).

Doesn't mean much, I see smog guys lose their licences all the time here because they let somuch pass.
Having it pass CA smog is no proof. :D

Just curious, what was the price of the rig?

1400, i thought that was ok for a truck with just about no rust ,but a few dents. you can drive it away

The axles alone are worth that. And it has a big block?!?! And it runs!!! Go find yourself 1400 bones and pick it up!

the money is not the problem anymore. i am about to lose my storage yard. its being sold so, running out of a place to put things. know what i mean?? i f i had a place it would be in my yard now.

I don't know where in NJ you are in relation to my uncle, but I could probably find you a place temporarily if you really want it.
