came across a 89 k5 with a sm565. looking in the window there is what looks to be a shifter for a bicycle on the shifter for the 4spd.

what would that be for? thanks

could be lots of things but I would say that it is probably a hand throttle. That is a pretty common mod for us three pedal guys.

I never understood the benefit of a hand throttle
you can use your feet for the clutch and brake and not have to worry about working the throttle with your 3rd foot you dont have.lol.i have wanted one also for awhile but havent gotten around to it.

speak for yourselves. My 3rd leg works perfectly when I need it!

Proper (and excessive) gear ratio can eliminate the need for a hand throttle allowing the driver to only need to manipulate the clutch and brake. :wink1:

I can see the use of a hand throttle for high idle during heavy winching.

With a driveway test of my new 465/203/205 combo with 119:1 crawl ratio, and with the brake pedal down as far is it will go, all i have to do is ease into the clutch and it will walk right over the brakes.
