question on how much paint to buy?

I am painting my Suburban Gloss black. it is black with strips and the front is red. I want it to look nice and shinny. I have a friend going to help me paint it. (he paints planes) but I need to know how much to buy and how many coats to give it to make it look really good. also how many coats of Clear and how much to buy..

thanks for any help... I need to paint this thing next week.

My Jimmy, not including the top, took most of a gallon of paint recduced 50% to do 3 coats.
