I have a built GM Dana 60 out of an 87 one ton. I have chromos, 4.56 gears with a locker, and warn hubs. I would like to swap this stuff into the D60 on my 2003 ram 2500. Does anyone know if this is feasible? I read that the GM and Dodge versions are fairly interchangeable. Thanks ahead of time.

Thats not a 60 in the ram.

Hmm, just read the specs off of a website and it says the front is a 60. If its not, then what is it?

ball joint / unit bearing / wimpy dodge axles and 03ish was when thay went to aam axle.

you would be better off fetting fab brackets and making your gm 60 bolt to the dodge suspension i think in the end.

I believe 2003 was the first year of the AAM 9.25" front axle, you should verify that before anything else.

If it's still a D60, the only parts you could use would be the ring and pinion. It would have unit bearing hubs that won't work with your lockouts, shafts are significantly smaller on the newer front end and are different lengths than the GM D60's, the locker won't work because again, the shafts are smaller.

GM = passenger drop, 2003 Dodge is driver's side drop so he'd need to make/transplant all of the bracketry and switch transfer cases. All of that assuming that putting a driveshaft on the passenger side clears everything on that side.

Im thinking at this point its best to just sell off my one tons, and use it to re gear the dodge axles... Way too much work:-)
