Im getting a milemarker 12000 hydraulic winch and i was wondering how much it would cost to have my power steering pump tapped or whatever it takes ,where do i go to do this .....and do you think 12k is enough or should i go bigger ?????? OH...ITS FOR A 1990 K5 dana44 8lug 14 bolt ff

not sure on where to go for ur pump, but a 12,000# should b plenty strong enuff...jus invest in a snatch block and several straps just in case...

Take the line from your pump to your sector and run it to the winch then back to the sector. What year, make, model? On a 90 it's probably hydroboost (I'm not real familiar with K5s) if so take the line that runs from the HB to the sector and hook it to the winch then back to the sector.
I have the same winch on the cucv in my avitar. It came off a power company 2500HD so I plumbed it up the same. works great!

I second the snatch block and straps/chains. one good quality snatch block will fix almost any stuck truck, plus you can pull things at hard angles. with a snatch block it will take twice as much cable but your winch will double in pulling power

and 2 snatch blocks

can never have too much winch...lol
