I have off of a 72 k-5 a 205 transfer. Attached to a TH350 trans. My 79 k-5 has a 203 attached to a TH350. What would I have to change to make it work? I have a HAD rear shaft that has plenty of spline left so I'm not too concerned about that.

My biggest concern is if the shifters end up in the same spot. I don't want to cut my floor, but I was also considering a twin stick shifter for the 205. Does this go together nicely? Or is it a make it work setup?

since you already have the 203 on your trans, make a doubler, from what I understand, it's about the same length, and then you can get a triple stick shifter.

well this vehicle is my DD, and it's more restored to factory than designed for off road capability. I am just tired of my super heavy and leaking 203. I was hoping to add strength and shed some weight.

for a driver, a 208 would be better suited for your needs.. its lighter (aluminum case) vs the 205 which has a steel case. The 205 is a lot more bullet-proof than the 208, but makes up for it in weight... I could pick up the 205 by myself, but not the 203...

But if you decide to install the 205, you need the adapter plate, female coupler, t-case. I did mine in a day with a friend and a tranny-jack.
