Ok, after days of readings everything I can on the subject, has anyone done a swap from 4l80 to nv4500 on a suburbanwith a 241 case and a passenger side drop front axle? I have seen conflicting reports on it, some say early 4500's with external slave will hit the front drive shaft, unless a 4" lift if used. Others say you must use a later model with internal slave that comes in from the drivers side. You get the idea, I would really appreciate hearing from someone who has done this with the combo I have, its a 91 V2500. Thanks for the help. Heres a pic off how she sits today, pulled the 350, its getting a mildly built 454 TBI and hoperfully a 5 speed. Also putting a 14B FF in from a 90 parts truck I have.

Hi, just passed by your Thread and noted your query.

Personally, I've managed putting in the NVG4500 in my Blazers as follows:

1st Project)
The early NVG4500 (1992) in the 1987 Blazer (factory-equiped with Auto TH700). Now, the Truck is sold.
For info, the Truck was lifted with 2" and fitted with a 454 (1996). I had a little rubbing on the slave cylinder (due to occaisional-friction with the Front Shaft- whenever I used to slam the Truck on the sand dunes), but never leaked and survived couple of years, till normal wear drove me to replace it. I think, little lift will help.

And,

2nd Project)
The latest NVG4500 (2006) in the 1981 Blazer (you can read on more about in in the Building Thread, via the link in the Signature).

I feel you man, and really hope you'll complete the Project with success and run the go'ol 'Burb with some boost.
