I was at the junkyard today and pulled a complete serpentine setup off a 89 S10 4.3L.

I got these items:

PS pump w/hoses & Alt w/mount
A/C w/mount and tensioner (I am gonna use it for OBA with an oiler)
water pump with fan
crank pulley
serpentine belt

The block in my 73 K5 is a 1969 350ci. Will all these items bolt up? I read in another post that one bolt might not line up and that this is not an issue.

hmmm, I just noticed that my current crank pulley is held on my 3 bolts and I think the serpentine crank pulley has 4 bolts... Do I need to go get the S10 harmonic balancer?

4.3 is diffrent balencing than 350.

i would find a 3 bolt pully.

and i have 2 sets for sale in the classifeds section off 350s. :D

dang it, yeah I should of known that... I guess I will go back to the junkyard and get a 3-bolt serp crank pully from a 350ci. Will all my other parts, including the water pump from the 4.3L fit?

Ha, I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground. I did get a 3 bolt crank pully from the 4.3L and it fits fine on my SBC. :doah: I dont know why I thought it was a 4 bolt :screwy:

Well, everything bolted up fine. I had to swap-out the fitting on the PS pumps so I can use my old high pressure hose with the flare ends.

Also, the upper rad hose wont clear the alt. I think I am gonna need a different water neck, one that is more angled up...

The serp system uses a different water neck, just like you wrote, it points up and staright forward a bit. You'll also want to get a different upper rad hose to fit it. BTW, the parts store should have those water necks for around $6 IIRC.

ok, I got a water neck for an 89 K5 from Autozone and it looks like it will fit fine (pointing up). I also picked up an upper radiator hose for an 89 Blazer. I checked the fit when I got home and it fits fine on the water neck and looks to be the perfect size, but on the other end that fits on the radiator, the hose diameter is too small to fit on. My old hose was same diameter on both ends but the new hose is smaller on one end. I had the guy an Autozone try different years of K5 and also Chevy Caprice with no luck, they all have the radiator-end of the hose a smaller size... I tried to force it on but it wouldn't go. So, all you serpentine conversion guys, what upper rad hose did you use?

My radiator is probably just a stock 73 vintage...

When I first ogt my K5 it had a new rad just put in. It used an adapter to size the upper rad hose to a bigger size to fit the 1977 hose. When I converted to serp it fit the new hose perfectly...
