I just changed out the lube in both diffs.
I noticed that there was no magnent on the front diff. cover , yet there was the dimple that it sits over.
So is there usually one there , or are they only in the rear??Thanks

on some axles they are on the back part of the pumpkin, some they are on the diff covers. . .look around you'll find one.

never seen a gm axle with a magnet in them from factory, and ive been inside a billion 7.5- 8.5" 10's, truck 12's, 14 Sf and FF's, '47-'72 H0 series eatons, and etc.

good luck

14 FF has it in the bottom of the housing...every one I've ever opened up.
