Could i tee my bowl overflow into my return line ro keep my carb from flooding out? ive set the floats all the way down and still hit angles i probably shouldnt and had flooding issues, new needles, blah blah, done it all.

The 5.3 is going in soon, just got a pcm and harness fo freeee, so it should be in a few months i hope. But im going to hidden falls on sunday and looking for a quick fix.

i may just run it to a little water bottle and check it often.

It would be really really iffy in two different ways.
First, while there is very little pressure on the return line, little pressure does not mean no pressure.
Even though the line is open to the tank, there is resistance in the line to flow that would cause a tiny amount of back pressure.
Probably more than is in the overflow.
Good chance you would wind up flooding the carb all the time.

Second, not sure that it would help even if it worked. By the time the fuel level is up to the overflow, its already too high.

For a long term solution, you might be able to drill the fuel bowl at just above the desired height, and run a dedicated line back to the tank.
Or even at the exact height and just let the gas recirculate like the in-tank fuel bowl on a Briggs and Stratton engine.

That carb does not even have a float or valve. It just has the side open to the tank, and a fuel pump that pumps lots more gas than the engine needs.
The bowl fills up to the cutout, and the rest pours back into the tank, maintaining the exact correct level with not other regulating system.

With a big enough return line and a slight restrictor on the incoming line, you could, in theory. do away with the float entirely.......

If fuel is spilling over, out of the vents you could use clear platic tube to extent them further up, or connect them with the tube and poke some holes in the top of it so it doesnt spill out that way. I might not have described that very well, but something like the Holley truck avenger carb, how that vent tube is setup.

run a 8" long piece of rubber hose and connect the two vent tubes together in a semi-circle and cut a slit on the top of the circle for airflow, it'll help quite a bit

Tried it, my intake is too low. (Cold air setup) the plenum barely clears the choke housing.

I think im just going to run some hose to a gatorade bottle and check it a couple times an hour.
