i just wanted to know what its part of.... thanks.

also .. to add to this... where can i find a wire diagram for the ignition system?

thanks:bow:

Looks like a ford style starter solenoid. Does it crank? What year is the blazer? I'm not familiar with the older ones. I got all my wiring diagrams in the "Electrical Diagnosis and Wiring Diagrams" service manual for my year truck ('91). I picked mine up on ebay for about $20 including shipping.

it starts... which threw me off.... because the wire is still unattached...
its a 90 k5

il look for the diagrams thanks... but still need to know in the mean time what the heck is up wiht the wire.

ill post another pick with the wire in it as well.

WOW, it has been about 15 years since I have seen a factory jack and inner fender that looked that clean! I would like to see more pics of your K5.

IIRC, there is nothing factory like that on a '90 Blazer mounted on the fender. That solenoid is for some aftermarker add-on like lights.

here is the pic with the wire showing.. its still not connected.. but it starts. and runs.

ya ill post more for you,... i keep it in good condition... lol wel i try,... even off roading.. AHAHAH.

so great.. i have a stock chevy with unknown parts... sounds good. HAH:haha:

Does your blazer have dual batteries? If so that might be one of the continuous duty solenoids for a dual battery set-up.

nope ... no winch.... and no dual batt.

could it have been used for two fog lights hat used to be mounted on the front?

x2, There is nothing like that on my '91 K5. Of course I don't have a factory jack either (not that it would reach :D).

this looks after market, not oem, and maybe a dual battery set up or a plow set up?

ok... well since its there... you guys have steps to use it for a dual battery? =] why not put it to use...

steps on how to set up?

Thats an old school bat man smoke screen solenoid.
I bet you have a fluid tank under the back bumper with hot pink fluid in it.
Just don't taste the hot pink fluid, it causes instant blindness.

So you didn't want to trace out the wiring? That would have given you the quickest answer. Leaving it partially hooked up probably isn't the smartest thing to do either.
