Quick gauge ?

Im looking at the back of an autometer oil temp gauge and there's an S,I,and ground. Does the S stand for source and the I ignition?

I would guess (S) for sender, (I) for ignition, and obviously ground to a good clean chassis ground.

That is correct. The "I" terminal is 4 amp fused ignition power. The ground is supposed to be a good ground close to the sender. I just installed my new Autometer gauges monday.
