87 burb rear door. Door is out. Window rolled up.

I need to remove the window from the door.

How?

Yes I'm a moron my head hurts so not thinking good

Not sure exactly but put power and ground to motor. One way up swap wires should go down.
Works. I've done this. Looked at the wiring diagram to figure colors for power and ground.

Lick your fingers for enhanced conductivity.

To the guys who actually helped THAN YOU. lol

Guy I know actually I know him cause he bought a burb. Needed a pass side rear window. Those things suck to replace. Geez Chevrolet couldn't even use a one peice window in the back. Good grief.
Well not bad cause mostly I just sat there head still isn't doing awesome so I actually did very little.

We found at the junkyard we could often open power windows on cars by placing both of your palms on the glass and firmly shove the window downwards...we used a suction cup off an old roof top carrier on some vehicles if the palms didn't work....usually you can get the glass to go down ok,sometimes the "tape" that the power motor drives gets loose enough to let the window "skip" down..

If not, then we had to try jumping wires with a battery..

I hated and still hate messing around with door glass, window regulators, and power windows--back when I was maybe 20,a friends '69 Buick Electra 225 got rear ended and totaled--we stripped every unboltable part off that car before having it hauled to scrap, and both me and the owner came "this close" to losing all 10 fingers while attempting to remove the power window assembly..maybe we did it wrong--.?..but to us,the way we took it apart seemed like the "right" way...

I recall there being two springs that looked like mini garage door springs or hood springs, that would make the window go flying down on its tracks like a guillotine (shllhling!) and both of us got our fingers badly pinched and cut --despite my friend being the first victim,me using thick gloves and extreme care after seeing his wounds--I still got my fingers smashed..

Working inside doors sucks too, razor blade sharp openings and parts in there always ensure you'll lose blood before the job is over, and maybe the door glass too,its real easy to bust one ,one slip and poof, its in a million crumbs.....

I put duct tape over the cut out areas now if I have to grope around inside a door to retrieve a dropped clip or tool, after having my arm get slashed up pretty bad a few times..

I keep fire & theft and glass coverage on my insurance,so I wont have to deal with glass repairs..it has a 100 dollar deductible now though,it used to be zero..
